GSL Education Hull Branch are currently hiring a Teacher of Science to work within a forward-thinking secondary school in Scarborough. We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and committed educator who can foster curiosity, encourage scientific enquiry, and help students develop the skills and confidence to succeed in Science.

Teacher of Science Role:

The successful Teacher of Science will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to explore the principles of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics through both theoretical and practical learning. We are looking to recruit a Teacher of Science who can create an inclusive classroom environment, motivate learners of all abilities, and contribute positively to the wider school community.

Teacher of Science Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Teach practical and theoretical aspects of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in line with the curriculum
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing effective feedback to support achievement
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom and laboratory environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high-quality teaching and student outcomes

Teacher of Science Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting
  • Strong classroom management and effective communication skills
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young people through Science
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to deliver engaging, practical lessons
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
