Location: Sheffield (S5)
Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Do you enjoy helping children overcome challenges and thrive in the classroom? A welcoming primary school in the Sheffield S5 area is looking for a caring and committed Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team from September.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils who need additional help managing their behaviour and engagement with learning. Working closely with class teachers and the wider pastoral team, you will encourage positive behaviour, build trusting relationships and help pupils take part confidently in classroom activities throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation and classroom engagement.
  • Work alongside teachers to provide effective classroom support.
  • Build positive and consistent relationships with individual pupils and small groups.
  • Encourage participation in lessons and school activities.
  • Help maintain a calm, safe and structured learning environment.
  • Monitor progress and communicate relevant observations with teaching staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, resilient and positive approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
  • Experience in behaviour support, education or a similar setting is advantageous.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
