Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Pay: £120–£140 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join amazing schools in Wakefield WF7. We would like to have a patient and enthusiastic individual who can provide tailored classroom support, encourage student engagement, and help learners develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed.
The Learning Support Assistant (LSA) is going to offer a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students, providing the guidance and encouragement they need to make meaningful progress in their education.
Responsibilities of LSA:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils during classroom activities
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Adapt support to meet the individual needs of learners with varying abilities
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independent learning
- Monitor student progress and share observations with teaching staff when appropriate
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-organised learning environment
Requirements for LSA:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and school staff
- Patient, flexible, and committed to supporting individual learning needs
- Positive approach to behaviour management and student wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
