Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Wakefield WF5
Pay: £150–£200 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join supportive schools in Wakefield WF5. We want a dedicated educator who can deliver engaging lessons, develop students' communication skills, and foster a lifelong appreciation for English Language and Literature.

The English Teacher is going to inspire confident readers, thoughtful writers, and effective communicators while helping students achieve their full academic potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons that meet curriculum objectives
  • Encourage students to develop strong reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills
  • Differentiate lessons to support learners with varying abilities and learning styles
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to improve attainment
  • Create a positive classroom environment that encourages discussion, creativity, and independent thinking
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support departmental initiatives and student achievement

English Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school is desirable
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum
  • Ability to motivate students through engaging and inclusive teaching approaches
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
