Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Leeds LS25
Pay: £110–£130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to join supportive educational institutes in Leeds LS25. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual who can provide tailored support, encourage independence, and help pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) achieve their full potential.

The SEN Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference by supporting pupils in overcoming barriers to learning within an inclusive educational environment.

Responsibilities of SEN TA:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual educational and emotional needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence throughout the school day
  • Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement personalised support strategies
  • Monitor pupil progress and communicate observations with the wider school team
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for every pupil

Requirements for SEN TA:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable
  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting individual learning needs
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Good communication, teamwork, and behaviour management skills
  • Flexible and proactive approach to supporting classroom activities
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
