Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Wakefield WF3
Pay: £110–£130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join welcoming schools in Wakefield WF3. We would like to hear from a supportive and reliable individual who can assist teachers with classroom activities, encourage pupil participation, and help create a positive learning environment.

The Teaching Assistant (TA) will have a valuable opportunity to support students' academic, social, and emotional development while gaining hands-on experience within education.

Responsibilities of TA:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and active participation in lessons
  • Assist with preparing learning materials and maintaining classroom organisation
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and engagement
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Patient, flexible, and proactive approach to classroom support
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
