Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated PE Teacher to join welcoming educational settings in Barnsley. We are looking for an energetic professional who can deliver engaging Physical Education lessons, encourage healthy lifestyles, and help students develop confidence, resilience, and a passion for physical activity.
The Physical Education Teacher will create positive learning experiences that promote both physical wellbeing and personal growth.
PE Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging PE lessons across a variety of sports and physical activities
- Encourage participation, teamwork, and respect through inclusive teaching approaches
- Monitor student progress and support learners in achieving their personal best
- Organise and supervise practical sessions while maintaining high health and safety standards
- Promote positive behaviour and sportsmanship during lessons and school events
- Support extracurricular clubs, competitions, and wider school sporting activities where appropriate
PE Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Experience teaching Physical Education within a secondary school is desirable
- Strong knowledge of the PE curriculum and practical teaching methods
- Ability to motivate students of all abilities through engaging lesson delivery
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
