GSL Education Hull Branch are currently looking for a Teacher of Music to work within a forward-thinking secondary school in Scarborough. We are looking for a passionate, talented, and committed educator who can deliver engaging music lessons, nurture creativity, and encourage students to develop their musical knowledge, skills, and confidence.

Teacher of Music Role:

The successful Teacher of Music will join a supportive and collaborative department, delivering inspiring lessons that enable students to explore performance, composition, and music appreciation across the secondary curriculum. We are looking to recruit a Teacher of Music who can motivate learners of all abilities and create an inclusive classroom where creativity and self-expression can flourish.

Teacher of Music Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Teach practical and theoretical aspects of Music, including performance, composition, and listening skills
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Encourage creativity, confidence, and participation through a broad range of musical activities
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment that supports student development
  • Contribute to concerts, performances, and extracurricular music activities where appropriate

Teacher of Music Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Music within a secondary school setting
  • Strong classroom management and effective communication skills
  • A passion for Music education and the ability to inspire learners of all abilities
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging and inclusive lessons
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
