GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and passionate Teacher of Science to work within a progressive and supportive secondary school in Scarborough.

We are seeking an inspiring educator who is committed to delivering engaging Science lessons that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and practical investigation. About the Role:

As a Teacher of Science, you will become part of an innovative and dedicated Science department, delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will encourage students to explore scientific concepts through practical experiments, enquiry-based learning, and real-world applications, helping them develop the confidence and skills needed for future success.

You will create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where learners of all abilities are challenged, supported, and inspired to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities of the Teacher of Science:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teach scientific concepts through a balance of practical and theoretical learning
  • Encourage curiosity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations
  • Ensure the safe use of laboratory equipment and maintain high health and safety standards
  • Maintain positive classroom behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student achievement

As the Ideal Teacher of Science, You Should Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge across one or more Science disciplines
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners of all abilities
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding teaching and promoting student success
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to professional practice

To Work with GSL Education, You Must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
  • Have recent experience teaching within an educational setting
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
