Salary Scale: £92 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull branch are currently hiring a dedicated and proactive Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work within a progressive secondary school in Scarborough. We are looking for a supportive education professional who is passionate about helping students succeed and committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every learner can flourish.

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide high-quality classroom support and targeted interventions. The successful candidate will be confident supporting students with a range of learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop independence, and engage positively in school life.

Main Responsibilities as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across the curriculum.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students requiring additional guidance.
  • Assist in implementing intervention programmes to improve student progress and attainment.
  • Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials to support effective teaching.
  • Support students with SEND and additional learning needs, adapting your approach where appropriate.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promote students' social, emotional, and personal development through positive encouragement.

Level 2 Teaching Assistant Minimum Requirements:

  • A recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
