Job Title: Level2 Teaching Assistant
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Contract Type: Temporary, Supply, Part-Time
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary Scale: £92 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull branch are currently hiring a dedicated and proactive Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work within a progressive secondary school in Scarborough. We are looking for a supportive education professional who is passionate about helping students succeed and committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every learner can flourish.
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide high-quality classroom support and targeted interventions. The successful candidate will be confident supporting students with a range of learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop independence, and engage positively in school life.
Main Responsibilities as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across the curriculum.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students requiring additional guidance.
- Assist in implementing intervention programmes to improve student progress and attainment.
- Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials to support effective teaching.
- Support students with SEND and additional learning needs, adapting your approach where appropriate.
- Monitor student progress and communicate feedback to teaching staff.
- Promote students' social, emotional, and personal development through positive encouragement.
Level 2 Teaching Assistant Minimum Requirements:
- A recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting is desirable.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
