Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary Scale: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum (MPS/UPS)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Secondary Teacher to work across a range of forward-thinking and supportive secondary schools in York. We are looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed educator who is passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and helping students achieve their full academic and personal potential.
Secondary Teacher Role:
The successful Secondary Teacher will deliver engaging lessons and provide high-quality teaching across their specialist subject, supporting students to develop confidence, knowledge, and essential skills. We welcome applications from teachers specialising in Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities, Modern Foreign Languages, Computer Science, Business Studies, Religious Education, and other secondary curriculum subjects. We are looking to recruit a Secondary Teacher who can inspire learners, maintain high expectations, and create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Secondary Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in your specialist subject across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and backgrounds
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress to support academic achievement
- Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
- Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff to promote student success and wellbeing
Secondary Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching within a secondary school environment
- Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal abilities
- A flexible, professional, and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
