Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

A welcoming school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Admin or Attendance Officer to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working with staff, students and families to help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school.
About the Role:
As an Admin or Attendance Officer, you will provide essential administrative support while helping to monitor and maintain accurate pupil attendance records. You will communicate with parents and carers, update school systems, respond to enquiries and work closely with school staff to ensure attendance procedures are followed efficiently. Your organisation and attention to detail will play a key part in supporting the wider school community.

Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate attendance records using the school's management system.

Contact parents and carers regarding pupil absences where required.

Provide general administrative support to the school office.

Respond to telephone calls, emails and visitor enquiries professionally.

Assist with filing, data entry and maintaining confidential records.

Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support attendance procedures.
Requirements:

Previous administration or attendance experience within a school is desirable.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Good IT skills and confidence using administrative systems.

The ability to handle confidential information professionally.

A proactive, reliable and team-focused approach.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
