A welcoming secondary school in Doncaster is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive school environment.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task throughout the school day. You will manage classroom behaviour, provide guidance where needed and help maintain a positive learning environment across a range of subjects. Every day brings something different, making this a rewarding role for someone who is adaptable and enjoys variety.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes using work set by the class teacher.

  • Maintain good classroom behaviour and encourage positive participation.

  • Ensure students remain focused and complete the work provided.

  • Provide clear instructions and support where appropriate.

  • Report on lesson outcomes and any behavioural concerns to teaching staff.

  • Contribute to a safe, organised and productive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable.

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.

  • Confidence leading groups of students across different subjects.

  • A calm, organised and professional approach.

  • Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively as part of a team.

  • A genuine interest in supporting students throughout their education.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
