A welcoming secondary school in Doncaster is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive school environment.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task throughout the school day. You will manage classroom behaviour, provide guidance where needed and help maintain a positive learning environment across a range of subjects. Every day brings something different, making this a rewarding role for someone who is adaptable and enjoys variety.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes using work set by the class teacher.

Maintain good classroom behaviour and encourage positive participation.

Ensure students remain focused and complete the work provided.

Provide clear instructions and support where appropriate.

Report on lesson outcomes and any behavioural concerns to teaching staff.

Contribute to a safe, organised and productive learning environment.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable.

Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Confidence leading groups of students across different subjects.

A calm, organised and professional approach.

Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively as part of a team.

A genuine interest in supporting students throughout their education.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
