Location: Doncaster
Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: Immediately

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential? A welcoming secondary school in Doncaster is looking for a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant to join their team with an immediate start.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students who require additional help to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. Working closely with teachers and the wider support team, you will assist pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping to build confidence, encourage independence and create positive learning experiences throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with additional learning needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
  • Encourage students to participate confidently in classroom activities.
  • Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Monitor student progress and share relevant observations with teaching staff.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Experience supporting students with additional learning needs is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, compassionate and adaptable approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • A genuine commitment to helping young people succeed.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
