Job Title: Computer Studies Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a Computer Studies Teacher to join innovative schools in Barnsley. We are looking for a forward-thinking educator who can inspire students through engaging computing lessons while developing their digital literacy, programming skills, and problem-solving abilities.

The Computer Studies Teacher role provides the opportunity to equip students with the technical knowledge and confidence needed for further education and future careers in technology.

Responsibilities of CS Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging Computer Studies lessons that inspire curiosity and digital creativity
  • Teach programming, computer systems, cybersecurity, and digital literacy in line with the curriculum
  • Encourage logical thinking and problem-solving through practical learning activities
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted feedback to support academic achievement
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes innovation and collaboration
  • Contribute to departmental planning and support extracurricular computing initiatives where appropriate

Requirements for CS Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Experience teaching Computer Studies or Computing within a secondary school is desirable
  • Strong knowledge of computing concepts and current educational technologies
  • Ability to deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons to learners of varying abilities
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
