Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are recruiting a Geography Teacher to join supportive educational settings in Barnsley. We are seeking a passionate teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, develop students' understanding of the world, and encourage curiosity about both physical and human geography.
The Geography Teacher will students develop critical thinking, environmental awareness, and analytical skills through engaging and interactive teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons that meet curriculum objectives
- Encourage students to investigate global issues, environments, and diverse cultures
- Use maps, case studies, fieldwork, and digital resources to enhance learning experiences
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
- Create an inclusive classroom that promotes discussion, enquiry, and independent learning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to curriculum planning and departmental success
Geography Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Experience teaching Geography within a secondary school is desirable
- Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum and current educational practices
- Ability to inspire students through creative and engaging lesson delivery
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
