Primary Teacher (Reception / KS1)

Location: Stockton-on-Tees
Salary: £140–£190 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time / Flexible

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Stockton-on-Tees is seeking a passionate Primary Teacher to join their Reception class. This Primary Teacher role is ideal for an enthusiastic educator with experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or Key Stage 1 who is committed to providing children with an excellent start to their educational journey.

The successful Primary Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons within a Reception class, creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities of the Primary Teacher:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the EYFS Framework and National Curriculum.

  • Teaching a Reception class and supporting children's early learning and development.

  • Creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

  • Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress.

  • Differentiating learning to meet the individual needs of all pupils.

  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging independence through play-based learning.

  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents.

  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.

The Ideal Primary Teacher Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Have experience teaching within EYFS or Key Stage 1 in a UK primary school.

  • Have a strong understanding of the EYFS Framework.

  • Be passionate about delivering engaging and creative lessons.

  • Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).

  • Have a fully checkable work history.
