Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Pay: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join welcoming educational settings in Sheffield. We are looking for a confident and adaptable individual who can supervise lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure students remain engaged in the absence of their regular teacher.
The Cover Supervisor (CS) role is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting students' academic progress and personal development.
Responsibilities of CS:
- Supervise pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups
- Encourage students to remain focused and complete learning activities independently
- Maintain positive behaviour in line with school policies and expectations
- Record attendance and provide clear feedback to teaching staff after lessons
- Respond confidently to classroom situations while promoting a respectful atmosphere
- Support the smooth day-to-day running of the school when required
Requirements for CS:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Confident managing groups and maintaining a productive classroom environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to different subjects and school settings
- Organised, reliable, and professional approach to work
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
