Salary: Up to £200 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you a compassionate and resilient teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs? A welcoming specialist school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join their team.

About the Role:

GSL Education South Yorkshire are currently looking for an SEMH Teacher to work within a supportive specialist setting in Sheffield. This rewarding opportunity involves planning and delivering engaging lessons while helping pupils with SEMH needs develop academically, socially and emotionally in a safe and structured environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.

  • Create a positive and structured classroom environment.

  • Support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs to achieve their potential.

  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of abilities and learning styles.

  • Manage behaviour effectively using consistent and positive approaches.

  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, carers and external professionals where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or other additional learning needs is desirable.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching.

  • An Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

To work with GSL Education as an SEMH Teacher, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.

In addition to that, GSL Education is currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants (Ts &Cs apply).
