Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:
GSL Education South Yorkshire are seeking a compassionate and proactive Behaviour Support Assistant to work within a supportive primary school in Sheffield. In this role, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide behaviour support, encourage positive engagement, and help pupils develop confidence, resilience and successful learning habits.

Responsibilities:

Provide behaviour support to pupils within the classroom and around the school.

Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.

Work alongside teachers and support staff to implement behaviour strategies.

Support individual pupils and small groups with social and emotional development.

Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, staff and families where appropriate.

Monitor progress and maintain accurate records when required.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Knowledge or experience of behaviour support within a primary school setting is advantageous.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A calm, patient and resilient approach.

The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A genuine commitment to supporting children's development and wellbeing.
To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour Support Assistant, you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
