About the Role:
GSL Education South Yorkshire are currently looking for a Cover Supervisor to work in a supportive secondary school in Worksop. This role involves supervising lessons during teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused on their learning while maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment. Responsibilities:

Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.

Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure students remain on task.

Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies.

Provide guidance and support to students throughout lessons.

Report on lesson outcomes and any issues arising during cover sessions.

Build positive working relationships with students and school staff.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Confidence leading groups of students in a classroom setting.

A calm, adaptable and professional approach.

Ability to follow lesson plans and school procedures effectively.

A genuine interest in supporting students' learning and development.
To work with GSL Education as a Cover Supervisor, you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
