Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and making a meaningful difference in their education? A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
About the Role:
GSL Education South Yorkshire are currently looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive secondary school in Sheffield. You will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to provide tailored classroom support, helping students with additional learning needs access the curriculum, develop confidence and make positive progress throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

Provide classroom support for students with special educational needs.

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.

Support individual pupils and small groups to achieve their learning goals.

Encourage positive behaviour and promote confidence and independence.

Adapt learning resources to meet students' individual needs where required.

Work closely with teaching staff, the SEND team and parents where appropriate.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, caring and adaptable approach.

Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.

A genuine commitment to supporting young people with additional needs.

Knowledge of a range of special educational needs is advantageous.
To work with GSL Education as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses.
