Location: Doncaster
Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you passionate about making a lasting difference to the education of young people with additional needs? A welcoming secondary school in Doncaster is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.
About the Role:
GSL Education South Yorkshire are currently looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive secondary school in Doncaster. You will provide tailored classroom support to students with special educational needs, helping them access learning, develop confidence and achieve their individual goals. Working closely with teachers and the SEN team, you will play an important role in creating an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs.

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.

Adapt learning activities to meet individual student needs.

Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and participation in classroom activities.

Work closely with teaching staff, the SEN team and parents where appropriate.

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records when required.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs, is desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, caring and adaptable approach.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A genuine commitment to supporting young people with additional needs.

Knowledge of SEN strategies and classroom support techniques is advantageous.
To work with GSL Education as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
