Are you confident leading a classroom and ready to make a positive difference in secondary education? A welcoming secondary school in Doncaster is seeking a dependable Cover Supervisor to join their team.
About the Role:
GSL Education South Yorkshire are currently looking for a Cover Supervisor to work in a supportive secondary school in Doncaster. You will supervise lessons during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with the work provided while maintaining a calm and productive classroom environment. This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education professionals looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes using pre-planned lesson materials during teacher absences.

Maintain positive behaviour and ensure students remain focused on learning.

Provide guidance and support to students where appropriate.

Record attendance, lesson outcomes and any behavioural concerns.

Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure continuity of learning.

Help create a safe, respectful and productive classroom environment.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Confidence managing groups of students independently.

A calm, adaptable and resilient approach.
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.

Experience within an educational setting is advantageous.
To work with GSL Education as a Cover Supervisor, you should:

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
