Trainee Teaching Assistant

Location: Stockton-on-Tees
Salary: £120–£150 per day (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities of the Trainee Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom.

  • Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

  • Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.

  • Supporting pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.

  • Promoting positive behaviour and classroom engagement.

  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

  • Assisting with playground duties and classroom activities where required.

The Ideal Trainee Teaching Assistant Will:

  • Have a genuine passion for working with children and young people.

  • Be eager to learn and develop a career in education.

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Be patient, enthusiastic and adaptable.

  • Have transferable experience from sectors such as youth work, coaching, care, mentoring or customer service (desirable).

  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).

  • Have a fully checkable work history.
