Salary: £90–£120 per day (dependent on experience)

This Pastoral Support Assistant role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils' wellbeing, improving attendance and behaviour, and helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
The successful Pastoral Support Assistant will work closely with the pastoral team, teaching staff and families to provide tailored support for pupils both inside and outside the classroom. As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and student engagement, ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to thrive.
Key Responsibilities of the Pastoral Support Assistant:

Providing pastoral, emotional and behavioural support to pupils.

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups.

Promoting positive behaviour, attendance and engagement in learning.

Building positive and professional relationships with pupils, families and staff.

Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and additional barriers to learning.

Working alongside teachers and senior leaders to implement pastoral support plans.

Monitoring pupil wellbeing, attendance and progress.

Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive school environment.
The Ideal Pastoral Support Assistant Will:

Have previous experience working with children or young people.

Have experience supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional or social needs.

Be patient, resilient and approachable.

Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Be confident working as part of a wider pastoral and safeguarding team.

Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).

Have a fully checkable work history.
