Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:

GSL Education South Yorkshire are looking for an enthusiastic English Teacher for a rewarding opportunity within a supportive secondary school in Sheffield. You will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, encouraging students to develop strong reading, writing and analytical skills while supporting them to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative English lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.

  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.

  • Contribute to the wider school community and departmental activities.

  • Work effectively with colleagues, parents and carers to support student progress.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • A commitment to delivering engaging, high-quality English lessons.

  • An Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

To work with GSL Education as an English Teacher, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.

We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses.

In addition to that, GSL Education is currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants (Ts &Cs apply).
