SEN Teaching Assistant

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them access learning, develop confidence, and reach their full potential. You will work closely with teaching staff and the wider support team to create a positive and engaging learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small-group support for students with additional learning needs
  • Assist students in accessing lessons and completing classroom activities
  • Support students with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning challenges
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement with learning
  • Support emotional wellbeing and promote positive behaviour strategies
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to implement personalised support plans

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable individuals
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a proactive approach
  • Has a genuine passion for helping young people succeed
  • Can build positive and professional relationships with students and staff
  • Possesses excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Is committed to safeguarding and supporting student welfare

Previous experience within schools is advantageous; however, candidates with transferable experience from backgrounds such as youth work, care, mentoring, coaching, psychology, or support work are strongly encouraged to apply.
