GSL Education are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Fareham to recruit a dedicated Communication Support Worker for a full-time permanent opportunity starting in September.
This is a rewarding role where you will play a vital part in supporting deaf and hard of hearing students to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Whether you already have experience supporting individuals using Sign Language or have a genuine interest and willingness to learn and develop your communication skills further, we would love to hear from you.
The Role:
As a Communication Support Worker, you will:
- Support deaf and hard of hearing students within lessons and around the school environment
- Assist in delivering an inclusive and engaging learning experience
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers and peers
- Encourage independence, confidence and participation in school life
- Work closely with teaching staff and the wider SEN team to maximise student progress
- Adapt communication methods to meet individual student needs
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have experience using Sign Language or supporting individuals with hearing impairments
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
- Are patient, caring and adaptable
- Can work independently and as part of a wider team
- Are organised and able to manage priorities effectively
- Have a genuine passion for supporting young people
- Have a willingness to learn and develop further skills where required
