Trauma-Informed Practitioner
Location: Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire
Salary: £93–£125 per day
Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Long-term
Start Date: September 2026

GSL Education Hull is looking to recruit compassionate and dedicated Trauma-Informed Practitioner to work in schools and alternative provisions across Hull and the surrounding areas. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who understand the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), attachment difficulties, and trauma on a child's emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and learning.

The Role as a Trauma-Informed Practitioner:
As a Trauma-Informed Practitioner, you will:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who have experienced trauma or significant life challenges.
- Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD and other additional needs.
- Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions that promote emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviour.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to create safe, inclusive learning environments.
- Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches to manage behaviour positively.
- Encourage engagement, attendance and academic progress.
- Record observations and contribute to behaviour support plans and pupil progress reviews.
- Promote safeguarding and the welfare of all children and young people.
The Ideal Trauma-Informed Practitioner:
We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least 6 months' experience working in a school or educational setting.
- Is patient, empathetic and resilient.
- Has experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND, challenging behaviour or additional learning needs.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Has a genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
