Maths Teacher

Contract: Part-Time, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £168.80 – £261.79 per day

As a Maths Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that encourage students to develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts while fostering logical thinking, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning. You will work within supportive school environments that value high-quality teaching and student achievement.

Main Responsibilities as a Maths Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons in line with the national curriculum and examination specifications.
  • Teach a broad range of topics, including number, algebra, geometry, ratio, probability, and statistics.
  • Encourage students to develop confidence, reasoning, and problem-solving skills through engaging learning activities.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and educational needs.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and enrichment opportunities where appropriate.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes success for every learner.

Maths Teacher Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the mathematics curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4, with Key Stage 5 experience being advantageous.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
