Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Newcastle
Pay: £95–£115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are partnering with inclusive schools in Newcastle to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant (TA). We are keen to appoint a caring and proactive individual who can provide tailored classroom support, encourage independence, and help students engage confidently with learning.
The Special Educational Needs TA is going to make a meaningful difference by supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing learning environment.
Responsibilities of SEN TA:
- Deliver one-to-one and small-group support tailored to individual learning needs
- Adapt classroom activities to help students access the curriculum successfully
- Encourage communication, confidence, and independence throughout the school day
- Work closely with teachers to implement personalised education and support plans
- Observe student progress and share feedback with the wider support team
- Promote an inclusive, safe, and positive learning environment for every learner
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable
- Understanding of inclusive education and strategies for supporting diverse learning needs
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students through patience and empathy
- Confident working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
- Calm, flexible, and resilient approach to challenging situations
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
