Contract: Part time, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Math Teacher to work within secondary schools in York and the surrounding areas.

About the Role:
As a Math Teacher, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and their real-world applications. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment where learners are encouraged to think critically, solve problems confidently, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities of the Math Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Support students in developing strong numeracy, reasoning, and analytical skills
- Differentiate learning activities to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations
- Encourage confidence, resilience, and independent problem-solving skills
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student achievement
- Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate
As the Ideal Math Teacher, You Should Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for mathematics education
- Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to achieving positive learner outcomes
- A proactive and reflective approach to teaching and learning
To Work with GSL Education, You Must:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
- Have recent experience teaching within an educational setting
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
