Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum

GSL Education are seeking passionate Secondary Teachers to work within local schools in York and the surrounding areas. As a Secondary Teacher, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons, foster positive learning environments, and support students in developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed. We welcome applications from teachers who can deliver a secondary curriculum subject, including Mathematics, Science, English, Humanities, Modern Foreign Languages, Computer Science, Business Studies, Religious Education, and other specialist subject areas.

Secondary Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in your specialist subject area across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Create engaging learning experiences that challenge and support students of all abilities
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress effectively
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and maximise achievement
  • Establish high standards of behaviour and classroom management
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Support students' academic, social, and personal development
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff to enhance student outcomes

Secondary Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge in your specialist area
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication, planning, and organisational abilities
  • A commitment to raising standards and supporting student success
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage young learners
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
