GSL Education are seeking dedicated Lunchtime Supervisors to work within welcoming schools across Gateshead. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils' wellbeing and ensuring lunchtime remains a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive part of the school day.
We are looking for candidates who can build positive relationships with children, encourage positive behaviour, and provide supervision and support during lunch breaks. Your presence will help create a calm atmosphere where pupils can socialise, play, and enjoy their break safely.
About the Role
As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of pupils during lunch periods. You will supervise pupils in dining areas, playgrounds, and other designated spaces while promoting positive behaviour and ensuring school policies are followed.
This part-time role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work within a school setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise pupils during lunch breaks and outdoor play
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils at all times
- Encourage positive behaviour and respectful interactions
- Assist pupils in dining areas where required
- Support the organisation of playground activities
- Respond appropriately to minor incidents and report concerns
- Promote inclusion and positive social development
- Work closely with school staff to maintain a safe environment
- Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children is desirable but not essential
- Friendly, patient, and approachable manner
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in busy situations
- Reliable and punctual approach to work
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
