About the Role
As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop their reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills. You will inspire learners of all abilities and support them in reaching their educational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons
- Teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress effectively
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Encourage a love of reading, writing, and communication
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain high expectations
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leaders
- Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
- Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for English education
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students
- Commitment to raising attainment and promoting student progress
- Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach
- Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one – Essential
