Contract: Part time, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and adaptable Secondary Teacher to work within secondary schools in Scarborough and the surrounding areas.

About the Role:
As a Secondary Teacher, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons within your subject specialism, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where learners are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
You will be responsible for planning, teaching, assessing, and monitoring progress, ensuring that all students are appropriately supported and challenged to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities of the Secondary Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Create engaging learning experiences that promote student achievement and participation
- Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Support students’ academic, social, and personal development
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and wider school staff
- Contribute to departmental and whole-school initiatives where appropriate
As the Ideal Secondary Teacher, You Should Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge within your specialist area
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire learners of varying abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and positive learner outcomes
- A reflective and proactive approach to professional practice
To Work with GSL Education, You Must:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
- Have recent experience teaching within an educational setting
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
