Job Title: Sports Coach
Location: Wakefield
Pay: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a Sports Coach to work across energetic schools in Wakefield. We would like to hear from a motivated individual who can use sport and physical activity to engage students, encourage teamwork, and support personal development.

This role combines coaching, mentoring, and student support to help young people develop valuable life skills both on and off the field.

Responsibilities of Sports Coach:

  • Deliver structured sports sessions and physical activities for students
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and positive engagement
  • Support students in developing confidence, discipline, and resilience
  • Promote healthy lifestyles and positive attitudes towards physical activity
  • Adapt activities to suit different abilities and participation levels
  • Work alongside staff to support student wellbeing and development

Requirements for Sports Coach:

  • Experience in sports coaching, fitness instruction, or related activities
  • Ability to motivate and engage young people through practical activities
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Positive, energetic, and adaptable approach to working with students
  • Commitment to promoting wellbeing, participation, and personal growth
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
