Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Wakefield
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are recruiting a Geography Teacher to join inspiring schools in Wakefield. We are interested in hearing from an enthusiastic teacher who can encourage curiosity about the world while helping students develop analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.

The Geography Teacher role enables students to explore global issues, environmental challenges, and human interactions through engaging and thought-provoking learning experiences.

Geography Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging Geography lessons aligned with curriculum objectives
  • Support students in exploring physical, human, and environmental geography topics
  • Develop learners' research, analytical, and map interpretation skills
  • Assess progress and provide feedback that supports academic development
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
  • Encourage discussion, enquiry, and independent thinking within the classroom

Geography Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Geography is desirable
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of geographical concepts
  • Ability to make learning engaging, relevant, and accessible
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and planning skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
