Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Wakefield
Pay: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Could you help maintain continuity in the classroom and support students to stay engaged with their learning?
GSL Education are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor across thriving educational settings in Wakefield. The successful candidate will be confident managing classrooms, maintaining positive behaviour, and ensuring students remain focused and productive during teacher absence.
The Cover Supervisor is going to offer a practical route into education while developing valuable classroom leadership and behaviour management skills.
Responsibilities of CS:
- Supervise lessons using work set by teaching staff
- Ensure students remain engaged and complete learning activities effectively
- Maintain positive behaviour in line with school expectations and policies
- Provide clear instructions and support students where appropriate
- Record attendance and communicate concerns to relevant staff members
- Help create a focused and respectful learning environment
Requirements for CS:
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Confidence managing groups of students in a classroom setting
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to adapt to different subjects and learning environments
- Professional, reliable, and proactive approach to work
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
