Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are looking to appoint a Physical Education Teacher across vibrant schools in Barnsley. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver engaging practical lessons, promote healthy lifestyles, and support students in developing confidence through sport and physical activity.

The Physical Education Teacher will support students in building fitness, discipline, resilience, and teamwork through structured lessons and sporting activities.

Responsibilities of PE Teacher:

  • Deliver Physical Education lessons across a range of sports and fitness activities
  • Encourage students to participate confidently in individual and team-based tasks
  • Promote safe practice, fair play, and respect during practical sessions
  • Support students in improving physical skills, confidence, and personal performance
  • Assess progress and provide helpful feedback to encourage development
  • Contribute to wider sport, wellbeing, and enrichment activities where appropriate

Requirements for PE Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Physical Education is desirable
  • Strong knowledge of sport, fitness, and physical development
  • Ability to motivate students with different interests and ability levels
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
