Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are working with progressive school communities in Barnsley to appoint a Design and Technology Teacher. We want to hear from an inspiring teacher who can encourage creative thinking, technical understanding, and hands-on problem-solving through practical and engaging lessons.

The D&T Teacher will allow students to develop design, manufacturing, and evaluation skills while building confidence in bringing ideas to life.

Responsibilities of DT Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons across a range of practical disciplines
  • Guide students through the design process from concept development to final outcomes
  • Promote creativity, innovation, and critical thinking through project-based learning
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of tools, equipment, and materials
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support progress
  • Create a stimulating environment that encourages experimentation and independent learning

Design and Technology Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology is desirable
  • Strong understanding of design principles, materials, and practical techniques
  • Ability to inspire students through creative and hands-on learning
  • Excellent communication, planning, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
