A newly opened SEN school in Nuneaton is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to provide vital emotional and pastoral support to pupils with a range of additional and complex needs.

This role would suit someone who understands the importance of building trust and creating a safe environment where young people feel heard, valued and supported. Whether your background is in education, care or support work, this is an opportunity to make a genuine difference every day.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing emotional and wellbeing support to pupils.
  • Helping students develop coping strategies and emotional resilience.
  • Supporting learners both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to promote positive outcomes.
  • Encouraging pupils to engage with learning and build confidence.

Please note: This role will involve elements of personal care and requires strong behaviour management skills. Candidates must be able to respond calmly and professionally to challenging situations.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a caring and empathetic nature.
  • Can build positive relationships with young people.
  • Remains calm under pressure.
  • Has experience in mental health, support work, care or education (desirable but not essential).
  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
