Do you have experience supporting young people who need consistency, understanding and positive role models?
A newly established SEN school in Nuneaton is seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who can build strong relationships and help students overcome barriers to learning.
The role will involve:
- Supporting pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation.
- Using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Encouraging engagement and participation within the classroom.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff.
Please note: This position includes elements of personal care and requires excellent behaviour management skills. Resilience, patience and a calm approach are essential.
Ideal applicants may have backgrounds in:
- SEMH settings.
- Youth work.
- Residential care.
- Alternative provisions.
- Sports coaching or mentoring.
