GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to work in a supportive secondary school in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who is committed to delivering engaging and challenging Science lessons that help students achieve their full potential.

We are looking for an individual who can bring energy and creativity to the classroom while fostering a positive learning environment where students feel motivated to explore the world around them. Whether your specialism is Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, your ability to inspire and engage learners will be highly valued.

About the Role

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across the Science curriculum, supporting students of varying abilities, and promoting academic progress and achievement. You will play a key role in helping students develop scientific knowledge, practical skills, and confidence in their learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Science lessons
  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is advantageous)
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
  • Encourage curiosity, investigation, and independent thinking
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain high expectations
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leaders
  • Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
  • Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Science education
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
  • Commitment to raising attainment and supporting student success
  • Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service (UPS) – Essential
