Job Title: SEN Support
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £95 – £115 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time
GSL Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Support to join welcoming and inclusive schools in the Newcastle upon Tyne area. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
About the Role:
As an SEN Support, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to assist pupils with a range of additional needs. You will play a crucial role in creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment tailored to each student’s individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN needs
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies
- Support students’ learning, emotional wellbeing, and social development
- Adapt resources and activities to meet diverse learning needs
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Monitor and record student progress, engagement, and development
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties)
- Understanding of SEN support strategies and inclusive education practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
