Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Salary: £95 – £115 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and caring Early Years Teaching Assistants to work within welcoming and supportive schools in the Newcastle Upon Tyne area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting young children during the crucial early stages of their education.

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping children develop key social, emotional, and educational skills within a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Your Role as an Early Years Teaching Assistant Will Include:

  • Supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting with the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
  • Supporting children’s development in literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Helping children with personal care needs where required
  • Assisting in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning areas
  • Working closely with teachers and staff to monitor and support children’s progress

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with young children (Early Years setting, nursery, school, or similar)
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting early childhood development
  • Understanding of the EYFS framework (desirable but not essential)
  • Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
