Job Title: Sports Coach
Location: Wakefield
Pay: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are keen to appoint a Sports Coach to join active school communities in Wakefield. We are seeking an energetic and reliable coach who can use coaching skills to support participation, teamwork, and student development.

The Sports Coach is going to provide a valuable route into education, using sport and structured activities to help students develop resilience, discipline, and self-belief.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured sports activities that encourage participation and teamwork
  • Use coaching techniques to support confidence, discipline, and positive behaviour
  • Encourage students to develop communication, leadership, and social skills
  • Support active engagement during sports sessions and wider school activities
  • Promote safe, inclusive, and enjoyable physical activity for all students
  • Work alongside staff to support student wellbeing and personal development

Sports Coach Requirements:

  • Experience in sports coaching, fitness, recreation, or similar settings
  • Ability to motivate and engage young people through practical activities
  • Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills
  • Positive, energetic, and adaptable approach to working with students
  • Commitment to promoting participation, wellbeing, and personal growth
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
