Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Worksop
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day

GSL Education is looking for confident and motivated individuals with a sports, coaching, or fitness background to work as a Cover Supervisor in secondary school settings across Worksop. These roles are based in school environments where you will supervise lessons, support learning, and ensure students remain focused and engaged throughout the school day.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to transition from sports or fitness into school-based work, using coaching experience to manage groups, maintain structure, and support positive behaviour. This is a school-based support role, not a sports coaching position, with sport serving only as transferable background experience.
About the Role:
This role is ideal for individuals from sports coaching, fitness instruction, or youth leadership backgrounds who are interested in working in schools. You will supervise whole classes in the absence of the teacher, support students in completing pre-set work, and help maintain a structured learning environment. Your background in sport will be valuable in building rapport, managing behaviour, and encouraging engagement.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise classes during teacher absence as a Cover Supervisor

Ensure students remain on task and complete set work

Manage behaviour in line with school policies

Maintain a calm, structured and positive classroom environment

Use transferable skills from sport and coaching to engage and motivate students

Support staff by reporting any concerns where necessary

Promote consistency and routine across lessons
Requirements:

Background in sports coaching, fitness, youth work, or similar active roles

Confidence working with groups of young people

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Reliable, adaptable and professional approach

Ability to maintain structure and manage classroom behaviour effectively

Interest in supporting education and student development
