Job Title: DT Teacher
Location: Wakefield
Salary: Up to £200 per day
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term
Start Date: Immediately

A selection of secondary schools across Wakefield are seeking a creative and practical DT Teacher to deliver engaging Design Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

About the Role:
As a DT Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across areas such as product design, resistant materials and general DT. You will support students in developing practical skills while ensuring a safe and structured workshop environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging DT lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet student needs and abilities

  • Maintain a safe and well-managed workshop environment

  • Support students in developing practical and technical skills

  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Ensure equipment and materials are used safely and effectively

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable)

  • Experience teaching Design Technology in secondary schools

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Ability to deliver practical and theory-based lessons

  • Confident, organised and proactive approach

  • Commitment to maintaining health and safety standards in practical settings
